Jacky Croad – Combining Balearic Music with Pilates

JACKY CROAD – IBIZA CHILLED & IBIZA PILATES

Jacky Croad launched her record label Ibiza Chilled in the middle of the 2020 pandemic, from Santa Gertrudis, heart of the island. Taking to the recording studio, Jacky crafted a stunning debut, producing an authentic Balearic long player soundtrack. Volume 2 followed in 2021 and 1.5 million platform streams later, her music is regarded as the very essence of the infamous beautiful Ibiza experience, sunset vibes on a soul journey.

Jacky and her family are established and contribute to the real Ibizan community, having followed their dreams by moving to the island back in 2010. It was then she launched her first business, Ibiza Pilates with her private studio and Pilates expertise. She is now a renowned little black book contact for regular A-list clientele living and visiting Ibiza all year round.

We had a chat with Jacky about her businesses and her connection with Cardamom Events

What is your relationship with Cardamom Events?

I have known Craig and Navine for 8 years and they are my Ibiza family. I have seen many of their amazing events and am so proud of where they have come and their quality in every detail.

What has 2022 been like for you so far?

2022 has been interesting. Watching the world trying to recover from the madness of COVID. It’s been great for me because COVID made people realise they need to be healthier, so my Pilates work is very busy. My music has taken off also as again, during COVID people had more time to listen to music, and appreciate it more.

What changes to the island did you see after COVID?

Ibiza was heaven during COVID. The island healed itself as there were no tourists. It was stunning here. It was the best 2 years this island will ever see. Now the island is too busy. Everyone is here so I hope it calms down in the next few years.

What does the future hold for you and your businesses?

My music is going from strength to strength and I feel very blessed. I am slowly growing the brand of Ibiza Chilled. I will keep doing my Pilates. My clientele is changing to more celebrities and higher-end clients as the island is getting more pricey. I’m hoping it still keeps its original bohemian feel which is so unique.

Jacky hosts her own widely listened global, digital radio show on Ibiza Radio 1, Sundays 6pm GMT and her set lists give an insight into her musical inspiration and knowledge.

IBIZA Season 2022 Has Begun!

IBIZA 2022 – A NEW DAWN

This week marks a new beginning for Ibiza. After 2 years of uncertainty and a serious lack of the usual tourism, the island is finally back in action.

For both 2020 and 2021, the island and its visitors were subjected to ever-changing restrictions and an almost complete ban on the nightlife and clubbing that make Ibiza the most uniquely magical place for a holiday. But guess what – we are back!

It is only April and the island is already alive. The International Music Summit, which normally occurred at the end of May, has been brought forward by one month. Hundreds of influential music industry heads are congregating at Destino Hotel as we speak – discussing the future of electronic music and preparing for the legendary outdoor concert at Dalt Vila.

The super clubs also open their doors this weekend, for the first time since 2019. The backbone of the island, and the reason that Ibiza is the most unique place on earth. Music and clubbing is what brings the masses here.

So the summer is already upon us – and it’s only April! Team Cardamom are fully prepared for what could possibly be the busiest summer on record. Creating dream high-level luxury events and doing what we do best. We are incredibly proud of where our reputation has brought us post-pandemic.

But now is not the time for boasting. We just can’t wait to host our clients and provide the ultimate service! Ibiza – we are back…

A Fabulous Corporate Retreat

Madrid Fintech 6 Day Corporate Event

Cardamom prides itself on the ability to provide an incredibly seamless and stress-free service when it comes to corporate events.

For this particular 6 day extravaganza, the client was a young financial Tech company from Madrid wanting to reconnect their 140 employees after Covid as many employees had been working from home or had joined the company and never met their teammates. Cardamom help to organise a trip to Ibiza to reconnect the team and incentivise them for the future.

Cardamom took care of the intensive arrivals and departures over 6 days from around the world, as well as the activities and social sessions of the retreat:

Beach Olympics – a hilarious team building competition on the beach of Playa den Bossa with prizes for the winning team
Dinner and entertainment at Tanit Beach Club
Atzaro celebratory gala dinner and party
Catamaran trip to Formentera with Spanish lunch at Chez Gerdi Restaurant
Finishing off with the “Unexpected Dinner” at Ushuaia to close the holiday

A Dream Holiday at Six Senses Ibiza

Thank You Six Senses For This Amazing Family Treat

Over Christmas and New Year, we were invited to go and stay at the new Six Senses Hotel tucked away near Portinax. And what a treat that was!

It was the best end of year retreat we could have wished for – we just packed our bags, jumped in the car and off we went!

Half an hour later we were on holiday. The joys of living on this paradise rock we call Heaven!

We were so in love we did not want to leave.

The dining hall feels like a huge lounge and really helps to connect people.

The library has the most exciting books and honestly we could have spent a week in there.

The spa and massages! Just wow! We were in a massage coma for the rest of the day!

Our lovely welcome treats, we were so surprised and so super grateful!

The food was the best food we have had at any hotel in Ibiza, compliments to the team.

There is nothing as precious as family time and to do it in pure luxury courtesy of the Six Senses team was really a dream come true…

A Post Of Gratitude

Cardamom Events Are So Thankful…

At the beginning of 2022, we have had some time to take stock of what has happened over the last two years and what we have done to deal with it.

We have all been through very difficult times on a personal front – losing loved ones and fighting to stay afloat in this industry.

There is only one way to feel, feet touch the ground, be grateful and work on fighting the good fight everyday.

Life is truly a gift and has to be treated like one.

We have, over these years especially, come across many less fortunate than us, and being able to help others in challenging times is the whole purpose of being human – something we lost along the way in the crazy of life and work, not balanced as well as it should be.

So this period really connected us with feeling human again – giving back to ourselves.

The struggles were and still are real, but to able to talk, share, take time out for grounding was the best medicine for us.

We aim to use this year, and the future to continually remind ourselves of what we have and how we can make Ibiza, the industry, and the world a better place!

A Stripped Back Birthday For A Special Little Girl

Mimi’s 7th Birthday At Home

As many of you probably know, the parties we generally throw for our kids are quite elaborate and rightly so! Who doesn’t like a party with all the trimmings?

However, this year, Mimi requested a more simple party at home, with a Christmas Rainbow Unicorn theme…

The birthday girl and her friends played traditional English party games like Hide and Seek, Musical Chairs and did a treasure hunt. Then afterwards made some Christmas decorations together.

The food and consisted of delicious mini pizzas, chicken goujons, donuts and candy canes, plus a red velvet and macaroon cake all prepared with love by our dear friend Freja, a self-confessed feeder!

A perfect back-to-basics afternoon, topped off by a Christmas movie on the sofa.

Melina’s Big Birthday! 8-11.9.21

A 3 DAY BIRTHDAY EXTRAVAGANZA

After more than 2 years of planning, we finally got to celebrate one of our client’s big birthdays, with friends and family flying in from around the world to congratulate and celebrate together.

Day 1 of the 4 Day extravaganza kicked off with an intimate dinner for 23 at Roto in Marina Botafoch for close family and friends before the rest arrived from their home countries. With welcome drinks of Miraval Rosé and Laurent Perrier Champagne, the guests enjoyed a sumptuous meal of Asian and Oriental dishes of Tiger Crawfish Tempura, Red Tuna Tataki, Chicken with ‘ras el hanout’ and vegetable couscous, cooked at low temperature and served with vegetable couscous, yoghurt sauce, mint, mojo sauce with coriander and Piparra peppers.

Day 2 was the big White Party at Atzaro Agroturismo with close friends interviewing the 50 VIP guests as they arrived “Red Carpet Style” to be greeted by fine wines of Domaine Vacheron les Romains Sancerre, Tommassi Amarone Valpolicella and, of course, her signature Champagne for welcome drinks before sitting down to a bespoke menu chosen by each guest individually. A logistical challenge to say the least but organised and executed with Atzaro’s support. The chosen music genre began with subtle Bossa Nova with the Elena Tovar Trio and then moved onto classic soul tracks with DJ Santana & the amazing soulful voice of Keisher Downie accompanied by one of Ibiza’s finest sax players, Anastasia McQueen and 3 Gogo dancers from The Shop Ibiza in “diamonds” and feathers to present the 3 cakes for the birthday girl and her friends who could not celebrate their birthdays over Covid.

Day 3, was “Boho Chic” day at Nobu Hotel, a more relaxed, informal drinks and dinner, with a bespoke section of dishes from the infamous Nobu menu and the delectable Chambao Mediterranean menu all served poolside, beach front and under a tirade of overhead icicle fairy lights and colourful countryside flowers from Ramo de Flores. The chosen bespoke drinks for this night ranged from Sancerre Pascal Jolivet from France, Barolo Serralunga Ferdinando Principiano, from Italy, Château d’Esclans Whispering Angel, Rosé from Provence, and Taittinger Champagne along side Nobu’s signature Cava Sangria & Japanese Mojitos with fun beats from DJ Tom Grimes to seal the deal!

Final day of the birthday tour brought us back to Chiringuito Blue in Santa Eulalia, one of our family favourites for a relaxed “Beach Chic” evening where the guests enjoyed Blue’s finest dishes of Black lentils taboule, quinoa, roasted beetroot with salt and yogurt, White fish Sashimi, tomato seed, lemon & olive oil, Half Free Range Chicken Chargrilled with sage and lemon, Charcoal grilled Filet of Seabass and Sliced Galician 25 day dry aged Entrecote Beef with Chimichurri sauce. All finished off with vegan chocolate ice cream sandwiches, piña colada tarts with cheesecake mousse and a great LED light performance from Alchemy Flame.

All in all, great memories were made by all and the group were one of the nicest set of people from all nationalities and an event that Cardamom was proud to organise and be apart of.

Cardamom Date Night – A Blog by Craig

So the for the first time in a long time and between extensive events, the Mrs & I managed to fit in a date night at the gorgeous La llama restaurant in the W Hotel at the invite of the lovely Joshua from the Marriott, Blue & W Group and it was super special.

We started with a pumpkin carpaccio marinated with lemon, homemade mustard, pumpkin seed and baby coriander and Toro tuna tataki with salsa verde and ponzo, followed by succulent Miso and Sake marinated black cod with home made pickled ginger and a sides of truffled potato purée and sautéed Bimi broccoli with fresh lemon and garlic. To die for! If that wasn’t enough, it would have been rude not to try a dessert and we settled on Vanilla profiteroles all washed down with a beautiful French Minuty rosé.

Could be in the running for our new favourite restaurant but in competition with Chiringuito Blue of course!
