A Night At The Theatre – Teatro Pereyra finally reopens
Cardamom were recently invited to a night out at the theatre at the legendary Teatro Pererya in Ibiza Town. With 125 years of history, the Teatro Pereyra has been part of the collective imagination of many generations in Ibiza. For decades, it was the epicentre of the social and cultural life of the island, facilitating all kinds of activities: theatre, ballroom dances, variety shows, meetings, conferences, film screenings, etc. Now, after 16 years of remodelling, it has reopened its doors with the aim of recovering its identity and becoming part of the social life of all the people who had not been able to enjoy it until now.
The show’s name was Hippie Heaven – a live music dinner show created by Nacho Cano, one of the most recognised musicians, composers and producers on the national and international scene, as well as being an artist associated with Ibiza for decades. We were escorted to our booth, but later relocated to a table right at the edge of the stage where we fully submersed ourselves in the experience.
The show was accompanied by dinner service and cocktails created by international chef Emiliano Crucely. The story travels back in time to depict the history of Ibiza through dance and song. It truly was the most magical night. Thank you to Teatro Pererya for their hospitality and for reintroducing an important cultural scene to the island.
